How it works

Print a Samurai Sudoku in four steps

There is no PDF pack to download: puzzles are made in your browser when you ask for one, so a new printable Samurai Sudoku is always one click away. The printer button sits above the board once a puzzle is running.

  • 1

    Generate a puzzle

Start a puzzle at the difficulty you want. Each one is generated fresh in your browser and has exactly one solution, so there is no “printable pack” to run out of.

  • 2

    Press Print

Use the printer button above the board. The print view drops the site chrome and shows only the puzzle: clues in bold black, shared boxes lightly shaded, thick lines around every 3×3 box.

  • 3

    Solve on paper

Only the given clues print — none of your on-screen entries or notes. Choose “Save as PDF” in your print dialog if you want a file to keep or share, or print straight to paper.

  • 4

    Check the answer

Solved it on paper? Play the same puzzle on screen and enter your digits to see conflicts light up as you type, or use hints sparingly to unstick a stubborn corner.

What you get on the page

  • Clean black-and-white layout

The print view drops the site header, the number pad, and every colour. Clues are bold black, the four shared boxes are lightly shaded grey, and thick rules mark every 3×3 box, so it stays readable on a monochrome printer.

  • Fits one sheet

The 21×21 lattice scales to the full width of the page inside the margins. A4 and US Letter both work in portrait; there is nothing to crop or tile.

  • Unlimited puzzles

Every puzzle is generated on the spot with a single guaranteed solution, so you can print as many as you like at any difficulty without hunting through a fixed pack.

Difficulty

Choose the challenge before you print

Pick the level when you start the puzzle. Paper solvers usually enjoy Easy and Medium most — Hard puzzles reward pencil notes, which you can add in the margins. New to the format? Read how to play Samurai Sudoku first.

  • About 170 givens — obvious singles only

    Easy

Every step is a cell with only one possible digit left. Puzzles are solved by scanning for “this cell can only be a 4”. It is the right place to learn how the overlaps work, and a finish in 20–40 minutes is typical.

  • About 130 givens — needs hidden singles

    Medium

Some cells only make sense from the digit’s point of view: a 7 has just one legal spot left in a row, column, or box. Medium puzzles require spotting those hidden singles, and pencil notes start paying for themselves.

  • About 100 givens — the fewest clues

    Hard

The generator strips the puzzle down as far as it can while keeping a single solution. Expect long stretches where notes, cross-grid reasoning, and patience matter more than speed. Plan on an hour or more.

Tip

Save as PDF instead of printing

In the print dialog, choose “Save as PDF” (Chrome, Edge, Safari) or “Microsoft Print to PDF” as the printer to get a file you can email, store, or open on a tablet with a stylus. Turn off “Headers and footers” for the cleanest page. Questions about printing or saving? See the FAQ.
